Labat is in the process of finalising the acquisition of RealCam into its ICT division. The company is a niche provider of mobile surveillance and tracking solutions which are targeted at the transport, logistics, fleet and relevant vehicle and passenger markets. RealCam’s base of operations is currently in the town of Harrismith, with a small-scale presence in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
The business currently has a customer-base of 280 companies with 2800 tracking units installed in vehicles in South Africa. The acquisition value is approximately R4.4million for a 51% stake in the business.
